Social media bores Britons

London, March 6 (IANS) Increasing numbers of Britons are becoming bored with social networking sites, a study has found.

According to the research, 41 percent of the British online population claim to be getting bored with social media and say they will use it less, The Telegraph reported.

However, the uptake and usage of sites such as Facebook and Twitter is still growing, the study by the market research firm YouGov has found.

Nearly two-thirds (65 percent) of Britain's online population have used Facebook last month, while 23 percent of all web users have logged onto Twitter in the same period.

But the research found that just under a quarter of the British online population who regularly use Facebook, are going on it less than they did a year ago.

Nineteen percent also reckon they will continue to use the world's most popular social networking site less and less over the next 12 months.
