China CPC set to elect new central committee

Beijing, Nov 14 (IANS) The 18th national congress of the Communist Party of China will elect a new CPC central committee during the closing session here Wednesday.

Delegates to the congress are also expected to pass resolutions on the report of the 17th CPC central committee, work report of the central commission for discipline inspection and an amendment to the CPC constitution, Xinhua reported.

President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao are among 2,307 delegates participating in the session. The CPC will also elect a new central commission for discipline inspection. The CPC congress opened Nov 8.
