Argentina to confer civilian award on Indian

New Delhi, Dec 7 (IANS) Argentina will bestow one of its highest civilian honours, Order de Mayo - Officer of the Order, to Peter Toghrille Hassan, an adviser to industry association FICCI.

The award will be presented to Hassan at a ceremony Dec 10 at the Argentine ambassador's residence here.

The Order de Mayo is given for exemplary work and expert consultation.

Hyderabad-based Hassan has significantly contributed to strengthening Indo-Argentine economic and cultural ties, which have helped both the countries to enhance their trade activities.

"He has made India proud by endearing himself, specially to business and industry to explore the vast Argentine and Latin American markets, which are on hand to welcome Indian enterprise in so many areas of common interest," FICCI said in a statement.

Hassan, currently adviser, strategy and planning, FICCI, is also the Honorary Consul for the Russian Federation in Hyderabad.

The 'Order' is named after the May Revolution which led to the birth of the Republic of Argentina.
