Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh in quarter-finals

Bhopal, Oct 19 (IANS) Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab completed the quarter-final line-up with emphatic victories in the concluding league matches of Hockey India Senior Women's National Championship here Friday.

Four goals by Navjot Kaur helped Haryana enter the quarters with a huge 22-0 win over Andhra Pradesh in their concluding league game of Pool B. Navjot Kaur was given player of the match award for her contribution in team's victory.

Navneet Kaur (3), Ramandeep Kaur (3), Jaswinder Kaur (2), Udita (2), Jaspreet Kaur (2), Harpreet Kaur (2), Anshul (1), Kiran Dahiya (1), Manjeet Kaur (1) and Anju Dhiman (1) were the other goal scorers for Haryana.

Uttar Pradesh also booked their berth in the quarters, defeating Bengal by a huge 13-0 margin in their last league match of Pool H. Deepika Sharma who scored maximum number of five goals was given player of the match award.

Punjab defeated Jammu & Kashmir 18-0 to make the last eight from Pool-D. Sadhna Singh who scored six goals for Punjab topped the score list followed by Amandeep Kaur (3), Shikha Batta (3), Ramandeep Kaur (2), Sukhmanjit Kaur (1), Preety Sunila Kiro (1), Gurwant Kaur (1) and Sandeep Kaur (1).

Bihar also finished their campaign in Pool F defeating Assam 21-0 while Delhi beat Tripura 8-0 in their last league match of Pool H.

Pool B: Haryana 22 (Navjot Kaur 4; Navneet Kaur 3; Ramandeep Kaur 3; Jaswinder Kaur 2; Udita 2; Anshul; Kiran Dahiya; Jaspreet Kaur 2; Harpreet Kaur 2; Manjeet Kaur; Anju Dhiman) beat Andhra Pradesh 0.

Pool D: Punjab 18 (Sadhna Singh 6; Amandeep Kaur 3; Sukhmanjit Kaur; Ramandeep Kaur 2; Shikha Batta 3; Gurwant Kaur, Preety Sunila Kiro; Sandeep Kaur) beat Jammu & Kashmir 0.

Pool H: Uttar Pradesh 13 (Kavita Mourya 3; Kajal Malik; Soni Singh; Deepika Sharma 5; Poonam Giri; Anusha Aggarwal; Pratibha Choudhary) beat Bengal 0; Delhi 8 (Jasleen 2; Jyoti; Jaishree; Teena; Sneh; Sarita Rani; Gayatri) beat Tripura 0.

Pool F: Bihar 21 (Reena 5; Dolly Kumari 8; Priti Singh 3; Jyoti Pandey; Manjari Pandey 2; Madhu Kumari 2) beat Assam 0.
