Blatter hails Brazil's Futsal champions

Rio de Janeiro, Nov 19 (IANS) FIFA president Sepp Blatter hailed Brazil's world champion Futsal team after its dramatic 3−2 victory over Spain in Bangkok.

Brazil's Neto scored the winning goal in the final seconds of extra−time securing Brazil's record−fifth World Cup triumph since FIFA first sanctioned the event in 1989, reports Xinhua.

"Congratulations to Brazil for a fantastic final against Spain. I enjoyed watching it," Blatter said on his Twitter account Sunday.

Brazil argues it has now won the World Cup seven times but FIFA says the 1982 and 1985 tournaments do not count because they were outside the governing body's jurisdiction at the time.

Brazil played its first match of this year's event with six stars on its uniform − one for every World Cup victory − but reduced the number to four after FIFA objected.
